A couple of weeks ago we went to Florida to visit some friends in Jacksonville. He is in the Navy and they will be moving this summer so we wanted to see them in Florida one last time.
We flew into Orlando and stayed the night there. The next morning we drove to Jacksonville. We stopped off at Daytona Beach to play on the beach. It was the start of Spring Break so there were some people there in hardly anything but it wasn't crowded. Kyle freaked and would not touch the sand.
In Jacksonville we hung out with our friends and played. When it was time to go to the beach, a storm rolled in and it was foggy and damp and cold. But it made for some cool pictures.
We drove to St. Augustine and sent a day there. It is the oldest settlement in the counry. It is a really neat little town. First we took a tour of the lighthouse. If you have watched Ghost Hunters on Sci-Fi, they have been there a few ties and have found it to be extremely haunted. No activity while we were there though. Henry climbed to the top and took some pictures. I made it 2/3 of the way and turned around. I did not like the height. And Kyle was too small to go in there. After the lighthouse, we went to the spanish fort. They fired off some canons and we looked around. After we met up with Dave and Shauna and family and went to the beach and walked the histoic shops.
We then went down to Orlando and went to Sea World. Kyle loved the whales and dolphins. He still talks about them and how they went splash! He is exciteded to see anything from the sea now. We sat in the splash zone for all the shows but only goy soaked in the first show. So pictures of me look real good. It was 87 degrees (a record) with 80%+ humidity. We wanted to get wet and smell like fish that day! We had a good time though.
Our last day there we went to the M&M world, IKEA, and downtown Disney and shopped. We were almost over weight with our luggage beacouse of IKEA. I can't wait until the one here gets built!
We were also able to meet up with Henry's cousin, David who also lives in Florida. There were too many Dave's for Kyle to keep straight that week so we called Henry's cousin Cousin David. We went to a really good chicago pizza place called Giordano's. Henry eats there when he goes to Chicago, so when he saw one there he about flipped. It was really good and now, no other pizza can compare.
The last night we got a great deal on the Hyatt in Orland which is in the airport. Kyle thought that was really cool. We swam in the morning and watched the planes land and take off.
